Cayo Largo del Sur, simply known as Cayo Largo, is a small and peaceful island resort located off the southern coast of the main island of Cuba. Its remote location gives it a desert island feel with only a handful of hotels and endless pristine beaches. Cayo Largo (long cay) is the second-largest island of the Canarreos archipelago, after Isla de la Juventud (Youth Island).
Cayo Largo is the perfect sun destination for those who prefer natural surroundings and are looking for a non-commercial quiet place away from mass tourism. Cayo Largo's main attraction is without a doubt its 25 km of magnificent fine sand beaches located along the southern coast of the island; while the north coast is mainly dominated by salt marshes and mangroves. The hotels are located on the stretch called Playa Lindarena and on the west end of Playa Blanca. But the most famous beaches in Cayo Largo are Playa Sirena and Playa Paraiso, both located to the west of the island.
