The new Hotel Iberostar Laguna Azul is a 5 Star beachfront all inclusive resort with an International Buffet and five "A la Carte" restaurants including Asian food and Caribbean. As a brand new Iberostar Hotel, placed in a beachfront position in Varadero Beach, this new resort quickly positioned easily among the favorite Varadero hotels. It is a big resort, with a large lobby area, reception and bar and lots of places to spend time under the sun. Common areas are kept clean and it is a pleasure to watch the hardworking gardener maintaining the green areas. Laguna Azul receives you with its wonderful driveway and then the pretty lobby. Rooms are of good size and counts with all necessary conveniences. Most rooms have a good view either to the ocean or pool. Beach is nice, most days perfect for swimming and usually plenty of watersports are available including paddle boats, banana boat, kayak, windsurf and more.
There are lots of activities at the hotel including archery, table tennis, games, entertainment for the kids, ice cream bar. Entertainment by the small bar in the big pool is quite good. A sax player, pianist, trios and quartets all are great to watch. The patio after dinner is great to watch the sunset just before the show while enjoying some refreshing drinks.
A few bars are available as well; two pool bars, beach bar, the bar of the hotel club, the lobby bar and the air conditioned cigar bar is just amazing.
Mostly friendly staff all around including service people at the restaurants. The Italian stands out for its food and service. But the Romantico is also first class and the Japanese makes a good night out.
